Refrigerator Common Issues

A practical issue map for cooling symptoms, water concerns, ice makers and service preparation.

Common Cooling Symptoms

Refrigerator and freezer symptoms are easier to discuss when the customer can describe what changed and where the issue appears.

Symptom Useful observation Service planning note
Not cooling Whether both sections are warm, when the issue started and whether the compressor or fans seem to run. Have the model number, age, temperature readings and access notes ready if available.
Freezer cold, refrigerator warm Visible frost, blocked vents, door seal condition and whether airflow feels different. Photos of frost or blocked areas can help the first conversation, but diagnosis should wait for service.
Water leak or ice maker problem Where water appears, recent filter changes, supply-line changes and ice maker behavior. Shut off water if needed and avoid repeated use if water is reaching flooring or cabinetry.
