Dishwasher Leak and Drain Checklist

A concise checklist for describing dishwasher leaks, drainage issues, cleaning problems and drying concerns.

Before the Visit

Dishwasher preparation should stay simple: describe what happens, when it happens and whether water, drainage, cleaning or drying is the main concern.

For leaks, note whether water appears at the door, below the unit, under the sink or near nearby flooring.
For standing water, note whether the sink or disposal has recently been serviced and whether the dishwasher drain hose was moved.
For poor cleaning, note filter condition, spray-arm obstruction, detergent changes and loading changes.
For drying issues, note cycle selection, rinse aid use, door behavior and whether the issue affects every load.
Keep photos and the model number available when possible.
